”After graduating from Oxford University I first worked in a training center in South Korea, before moving to China and working in international schools. I now have over 12 years experience in helping students apply for elite global universities. I have previously run summer schools in Oxford and Cambridge for a variety of school and university partners, as Director of Operations in my previous role. In co-founding Lucky Bay I wanted to provide a holistic service that helps ensure all aspects of a student’s preparation for university applications combine to give students the best chance of success. In our summer school design I have focused on what I know works best for students, based on my successful experiences of helping students apply for elite universities, and my own academic success. All our summer schools, in the UK or Australia, help students explore future potential university majors, and gain a deeper understanding of both their personal strengths, and future path towards their goals. I believe that this approach is the best use of summer schools, serving as part of student’s self discovery and university application process. I hope that you are able to join my team and I in the UK or Australia this summer as we help students explore their academic future.”
All our summer programs are focused on helping students identify future study goals by helping them understand the subject-specific nature of a variety of different university majors. This is to ensure that when students are choosing their university majors they have the knowledge base to choose options that reflect their personal style, individual strengths, and future goals.
Our summer schools all embrace an interactive learning style, with a focus on workshops run by expert organization, visits to successful businesses in target university majors, and talks by professionals. This is very different to a lecture based approach, and takes advantage of the diversity of our destinations, using local resources to give students a truly unique experience.
The academic and the adventurous are combined in all of our trips, to crate a once in a lifetime experience for our students. All our trips have the goal of providing students with the experience of getting to know their local destination, understanding what university level study would be in that city, helping students explore future options.
Our UK summer schools help students explore a variety of potential majors inside larger areas, and are based in London, Oxford & Cambridge for 2024. We run our UK schools in partnership with Immersive Cultural Education, which is a UK registered company co-founded by the Lucky Bay Group, run by 4 education experts, each with over 40 years experience.
Our Australia summer schools take advantage of the beautiful outdoors, blending the academic and the environmental to create a truly once in a lifetime experience for students. We run our Australian summer schools, with our local based partners, led by Melbourne University graduate, and university expert Malcolm Wrest, with whom we co-founded our local Australian operation.

Hans works with our teams to ensure that the needs of second language learners are catered for on all of our trips, and that they provide an environment allowing students to make rapid progress and growth potential.
Adrian is a study abroad expert, and ICEF certified study abroad expert. He has previously studied internationally on a football scholarship in the United States and has worked for the past two years at a prestigious Chinese education consultancy. He works in our. Suzhou based office and co-ordinates both our UK based, and Australia based trips.
A good summer school should help students explore a new area, develop new skills in an existing area, or think about an area they are already interested in differently. This is to help students explore future career and academic options, as experience is the best teacher.
Summer schools should help students develop new skills by putting them in situations they do not face in their normal school life, with a focus on outside of the traditional classroom learning style. This is to help students connect academic study to future learning goals.
Students learn best when they are enjoying learning, so a key aspect of all our summer schools is to ensure that they are both useful and enjoyable for students, giving them an experience that helps make new social connections, practice skills, and inspire them towards their future goals.
